The Queen of Touch


Did you know that I’m the Queen of Touch?


It’s a fact.


I’ve gotten much business by being visible and “in touch.”


That doesn’t mean I bother any of my prospects, referral sources, or dormant accounts by “checking in” or “touching base,” or at least, I don’t do so with any regularity.


Instead, I look for ways that I can add value and position myself as a trusted business resource.


It takes time and due diligence, but it is well worth it.


Here are some ways in which you can stay in touch:


Make substantive introductions that both parties will view as beneficial, and do these introductions proactively. A great introduction is one way you can be sure you’ll be remembered, and your emails will get read.


Invite your contacts to webinars, meetings, and events of value. It doesn’t matter if you are attending, just share the news and let them know why you think it will be worth their time.


Share information such as links to videos and articles that are relevant and interesting. The information can be of general interest or more specifically aligned to the recipient’s interests or business.


The key take-away here is to be proactive and add value to the relationship, perhaps even before there is a “real” relationship.


Now, go out and touch someone. Um, you know what I mean.
