Changing Your Mind!

Did you ever have to walk back on a decision you made?
I did just in the past few weeks.
I had committed to doing a project that I felt, no, I knew was all wrong. It didn’t fit my competencies and would have made me stressed and insecure each day of the assignment.
But I said yes anyway and from the second that word left my mouth, I began to second guess my decision.
The good news is that I took action immediately, connected with the client and explained my decision to turn down the work.
The conversation was amicable and when it was all said and done, I knew it was the right decision.
The point here is recognizing when you’ve made a poor decision, moving on and pivoting quickly before any damage is done.
I’m not proud that I made a bad decision but I feel good about acting decisively once I figured it out.
